CBSE to launch new initiative ‘Reading Mission’ today at 3 pm

Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE will be launching a new initiative today, on September 20, 2021 for the improvemnt of students. As per CBSE, this initiative is entitled 'The CBSE Reading Mission 2021-23' and it will be launched at 3 pm. Stakeholders will be able to watch the live webcast on YouTube and details on the same will be available on cbse.gov.in.  

Notably, CBSE Reading Mission spans over 2 years from 2021 to 2023. This two-year initiative aims to improve the reading capability of students and mainly spotlights on students of classes 1 to 8. As per reports, after its launch today, this initiative will be implemented across more than 25,000 CBSE schools. Check below the important details to watch the live webcast. 

The mission will be launched by the Chairman of CBSE, Manoj Ahuja. It will then be followed by a webinar for teachers that will help them understand better about the culture for reading in schools. 

CBSE Reading Mission is being launched in collaboration with Pratham Books' Story Weaver and Central Square Foundation. Many stakeholders and people from the Education sector will be expected to present for the launch today. The plan has been made keeping in mind the implementation of the National Education Policy, NEP 2020.
