Centenary Celebration of OU to be held Grand: Telangana CM

The centenary celebrations of Osmania University is going to be happen soon. The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that these celebrations should be held on grand scale.

The University came into existence in 1918. It is named after its founder, Nawab Osman Ali Khan, the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad who rather through a farman or Royal Charter opened this University. It is the seventh oldest in India, the third oldest in south India and the first to be established in the princely state of Hyderabad.

 The Telangana  CM after the discussion with the ministers and officials on the issue said that the state government should spent whole hearty to restore the University and to bring back it to its previous glory.

Points Put Up By The CM Are

  • Along with the restoring of the OU the government will also take steps to give quality and standard education in all the universities of the state. Attention will not be given to only one University.
  • The restoration process will include the improvement of the infrastructure, hostels and other facilities in the Universities.
  • The Centenary Celebrations of the OU should be held in April and should be done so profusely that it brings the festive environment in the entire state.
  •  Rao said, adding that committees should be formed with Vice Chancellors for organizing the events.
  • All the passed out students of the University who are settled in different parts should be invited to the event.
  • The committee will be headed by MP K Keshav Rao will submit the report on this issue to the CM, Rao.
