New Delhi: The central government has received an amount of Rs 254 crore from the junk that came out in cleaning Diwali. This amount has been received from the sale of junk from offices related to central government departments. On Tuesday, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that this campaign of cleanliness lasted for 3 weeks before Diwali. The scrap from this was sold, in which more than two and a half hundred crores were found. Apart from this, 37 lakh square feet of land have also been vacant.  

He had kept all the junk on this big land. Now this land can be used for some other work. Since the beginning of the second round of the cleanliness campaign, the central government departments were engaged in the cleanliness campaign. All departments are carrying out cleanliness drives till October 31, the minister said. Under this, useless files and other materials are being sold, which are no longer of any use. Apart from this, priority will be given to such things, which keep the environment right. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the cleanliness campaign in the country has taken the form of a people's movement.  

Jitendra Singh said that due to this period, the works have also been dealt with fast. A total of 40 lakh files were reviewed. More than 3 lakh complaints were disposed of. In addition, 588 rules were relaxed. The Union Minister said that enthusiasm was seen in all the ministries about the cleanliness campaign. Due to this, the central government has decided to recruit 10 lakh in the next one and a half years. Under this, On the occasion of Dhanteras, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over appointment letters to 75 thousand persons.
