New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) announced on Monday that more than 140.28 crore, precisely 1,40,28,94,550, COVID-19 vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories so far, with 17,83,30,021 crore balance and unutilized doses still available with them to be administered.

The immunisation campaign in the country has been boosted by the availability of more vaccinations, improved visibility of vaccine availability for states and UTs to enable better planning, and the simplification of the vaccine supply chain. The Central government would acquire and supply (free of charge) 75 percent of the vaccines manufactured by vaccine producers in the country to states and UTs in the new phase of the COVID-19 vaccination push.
