According to the Indian Meteorological Department, people can get relief from the heat in Delhi-NCR and some areas of Uttar Pradesh. In the next 48 hours, the conditions are getting favourable for the southwest monsoon to move ahead in the remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi. According to the news agency PTI, the temperature has fallen in some parts of North India, where it also rained in some places. The Meteorological Department said that the monsoon is likely to reach Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi within two days. It has predicted heavy rainfall at different places in Delhi on Wednesday and Thursday.

The heatwave continues in Rajasthan. The maximum temperature in Ganganagar was recorded at 43.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Churu and Jaipur recorded maximum temperatures of 43 degrees, 42.8 degrees, 42.1 degrees and 40.2 degrees respectively. According to the Meteorological Department, mercury was recorded at 39.5 degrees and 37.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Ajmer and Kota. Meanwhile, light rains have also occurred at some places in the state since Monday. The weather department has also recorded Ajmer, during the next 24 hours, according to the media report. Moderate to heavy rainfall is predicted in Udaipur, Kota, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions.
