Raipur: The school education department has decided to evolve a consensus in schools for egg distribution.  For the children who eat eggs there, eggs will be delivered to their home. The department has also issued a letter to the District Magistrates in this regard.

It has also been decided to provide eggs as nutritious food to children in the mid-day meal in the state. Several other organisations, including the opposition BJP, have lodged protests over the issue. The Kabirwadis have even threatened to agitate. The Department of School Education had on Tuesday issued instructions to all schools to hold a meeting of the Shala Vikas Samiti and parents within the next two weeks.

These meetings are said to identify students who do not want to eat egg in mid-day meal. In a letter to the district magistrates, it has been said that arrangements should be made to boil or cook eggs separately after preparing the mid-day meal. Students who like to eat eggs should be served eggs by sitting in separate lines during the mid-day meal.
