The line of actual control has again causing a sense of tension between the countries with China increasing the troops near border. Army Chief General Manoj Pande has said today that there has been a slight increase in the number of Chinese troops at LAC.

General said that the situation along the northern borders with China is under control but is still ‘unpredictable’. But he said that we still need to remain alert as the ceasefire has held well with Pakistan border but the neighbor support is still persistent in the region supporting terror infrastructure and terror groups.

He further said that the five out of seven pointed issues between the two countries have been presented on the table to discuss out the matter with conversations without involving the physical damage.   

“There is a slight increase in the number of troops opposite our Eastern command. We are keeping a close watch on the movements” said by the Chief General Manoj Pande. India has also been maintaining the adequate amount of force along the LAC border and is ready to deal with any situation at the border.

The major challenge faced by the Indian armed forces today is the situation at the northern borders. Indian Army is capable, powerful and ready to tackle any adverse situation at the international borders. Army is also creating a road alongside the international border with boosting the infrastructure near the border. General has also said that for the last 3 years, Rs 1300 crore has been spend for the infrastructure and habitat requirements in Ladakh.

As said by the Chief General, “Habitats for the deployment 500 tanks and 400 guns have been created in the Eastern Ladakh sector by the Army. Habitats for 55,000 troops have also been created”.

General said that, "The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has built roads spanning 2,100 km along our northern borders and 7,450-metre bridges in the last five years". Work at frontier highway in Arunachal Pradesh is also going on.

General has said that the women officers are also going to be soon deployed to the Indian Army's Corps of Artillery, as this proposal has been forwarded to the government for its approval. “We also have the Army Martial Arts Routine which will help in dealing with combat situations. It is an amalgamation of different martial arts in the country," he further said.
