Sau Paulo: Clashes occurred between two rival groups in a prison in far northern Brazil on Sunday, leaving atleast 25 inmates killed.
As per the reports, “Seven of the dead were beheaded and six burned to death in fighting at a prison in Boa Vista, the capital of Roraima state”.
The incident happened when prisoners of one section of the Agricola de Monte Cristo prison busted into another section. Prisoners were carrying knives and wooden clubs.
Roraima state Secretary of Justice Uziel Castro said that, “the fight blew up during visiting hours, and some 100 relatives of prisoners were briefly held captive.”
"All the hostages were released and the most of them were women," Castro added.
