Jaipur: Rajasthan BJP MP Kirori Lal Meena is set to file a separate complaint against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav Gehlot on Friday after he filed a complaint with the Central Bureau of Investigation (ED) against the Department of Information Technology and Communications (DoITC) over an alleged Rs 5,000 crore scam. Meena will arrive at the ED office on Friday and submit "evidence" to the investigating agency against Vaibhav Gehlot and Fairmont Hotel owner Ratankant Sharma, his team said.

Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena has claimed that a Mauritius-based shell company has invested around Rs 100 crore in Hotel Fairmont. Shell companies are those companies that run only on paper and do not do physical transactions of money, but these companies are easy means of money laundering. They are also called 'shell companies' or 'pseudo companies'. Shell companies exist only on paper and do not carry out any official business on the ground.

MP Meena has alleged that this money belongs to Gehlot and his family members, which was earlier sent to Mauritius through hawala channel. Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here on Thursday, Meena accused Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, his son Vaibhav Gehlot and daughter-in-law Himanshi Gehlot of making illegal investments worth crores of rupees in the five-star heritage hotel business by forming fake and dummy companies. Meena has demanded an inquiry by the ED alleging illegal land conversion, illegal construction, grazing land and encroachment on irrigation department land.

Meena mainly pointed to the scam at Raffles Hotel in Udaipur, Taj Aravali Hotel, Nimdi Palace in Mount Abu and Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur. He alleged that Vaibhav Gehlot and Himanshi Gahlot are involved in benami business at Fairmont Hotel with money invested from Mauritius, and part of the profit made from the said business is being further transferred to Sunlight Car Rental Services Private Limited, a dummy company of Vaibhav Gehlot. Meena claims that he has evidence of this and he is going to give this evidence to the ED today.
