Raipur: Many state governments have opened a front against the Citizenship Amendment Act. After Punjab and Kerala, voice is being raised against this from many more non-BJP ruled states. Leaders in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have said that they will follow the policy of the central high command. On Thursday, the Chief Minister of Punjab-Kerala had said not to enforce the citizenship law in his state.
After which now on Friday, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has said that his stand on the Citizenship Amendment Act will not be different from the central high command. Whatever is their stand, it is also our stand. Apart from him, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath has also said in his statement that the state will move forward on the basis of whatever decision the Congress Party will take.
From the Congress quota in Maharashtra, Balasaheb Thorat, a minister in the Thackeray government, has also said that the central leadership will take decisions on the same basis in the state. However, no statement has been made on this from CM Uddhav Thackeray yet. Let us tell you that earlier on Thursday, Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh announced that the Citizenship Amendment Act will not be implemented in his state.
