Mumbai: Continuous rains in several districts of Maharashtra have added to the government's woes. Many districts like Pune, Nashik, Sangli and Kolhapur have been submerged. The Fadnavis government in Maharashtra is preparing to seek help from the Centre to rehabilitate the flood victims. CM Devendra Fadnavis said on Tuesday that the government will submit a memorandum seeking assistance of Rs 6800 crore from the central government.

The government has informed that a demand of Rs 2105 crore will be made for flood affected areas of Konkan, Nashik and fertilized Maharashtra. While Rs 4700 crore will be sought for the flood affected people of Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara. The loss of cattle will be compensated on the basis of assessment made by the local Sarpanch. The state government will help in constructing houses for those whose houses have been damaged by the floods.

On the other hand, Fadnavis Cabinet Ministers have decided to donate one month's salary to help the flood affected people. The CM thanked all agencies including Navy, Air Force and NDRF for helping the flood affected people.  In Maharashtra, the death toll due to floods has risen to 43. Three people are reported to be missing.
