Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be conferred with the first Mufti Award for Probity in Politics and Public Life in Jammu. The Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Narinder Nath Vohra will give this award.

Patna [State Bureau] Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be honored with the first Mufti Award for Probity in Politics and Public Life in Jammu on Monday. The award will be given by J & K People's Democratic Party (JKPDP), headed by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, in memory of the founder and former Union Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.

Mehbooba Mufti said in a letter written to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar about this: I am speaking with full honesty that there is no better person than you in the country in the matter of purity of political and public life which will be honored with this respect.

Mehbooba Mufti has also reminded Nitish Kumar to have the Jammu-Kashmir connection. In the letter sent to the Chief Minister, he said that I remember that as a Railway Minister, you took initiative for the valley and laid the foundation stone of the rail line for Baramulla and Anantnag.

Lord Meghnad Desai will also be present on the occasion. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and JDU senior leader Sanjay Jha will also attend the function.

JDU's national general secretary and in-charge of Delhi Sanjay Jha said that the Chief Minister is getting the award of Shuddhashti in political and public life at the time when a politician is being punished on the issue of corruption in Bihar.

Nitish Kumar's political life has been more than three decades. For twelve years he is the chief minister. His image is such that has repossessed Bihar's reputation.
