Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 1: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday said that truth has prevailed in the Vyapam scam investigation.

His response came after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday practically gave him a clean chit in the Vyapam scam when it filed charge sheet against 490 accused in the scam.

"I was clean so a clean chit to me was obvious,"  CM Chouhan told reporters here.

Without naming senior Congress leader and Ex CM of M.P. Digvijaya Singh,  CM Chouhan told, "People working in public life should not level false allegations against an opponent just for the sake of defaming. The opposition has a right to level allegations but those allegations must be authentic."

The CBI told that there is no basis in the claims made by senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh that the hard disk which was detained was tampered with.

Digvijaya had moved a summons petition in the Supreme Court in 2015 looking for forensic inquiry of documents, including the hard disk recovered from the Vyapam staff.
