New Delhi: The threat of delta plus, a new variant of the fast-spreading corona virus across the country, is now spreading in Uttar Pradesh as well. CM Yogi Adityanath has given important instructions after a delta+ variant was confirmed in a man from Nagpur. CM Yogi has directed the passengers coming to the state to conduct RTPCR tests and perform genome sequence of their samples.
In fact, a passenger from Nagpur was found infected with delta+ variant on Wednesday, after which the state government has been on alert. The Central Government is also on alert and on Friday itself the Centre has written to 8 states asking them to set up cantonment zones immediately in districts where delta plus variant cases have been reported. Cm Yogi Adityanath has directed that every traveller coming to the state be tested RTPCR and his sample genome for sequence. He has also directed to arrange genome sequences in KGMU and BHU.
According to information provided by the Health Ministry, about 50 cases have been registered in 12 states of Delta Plus variantso far. The highest number of 20 cases have been registered in Maharashtra, 9 cases in Tamil Nadu and 7 cases from Madhya Pradesh.
