New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed strong confidence on Saturday that the Modi government would secure a resounding victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He asserted that the people are firmly backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a developed (Viksit) and self-reliant (Aatmanirbhar) India.
After casting his vote in the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Adityanath told reporters, "Today, voting is taking place across 57 seats in 8 states, including 13 seats in Eastern Uttar Pradesh: Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Bansgaon, Salempur, Ballia, Ghosi, Robertsganj, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Mirzapur."
He highlighted that over the past two and a half months, various political parties have presented their issues and achievements to fulfill public aspirations. "The people have conducted a comparative analysis of the performances of the previous governments and that of the Modi government over the last 10 years," he added.
Adityanath expressed gratitude to voters for their enthusiastic participation despite the rising temperatures and urged them to rise above caste and religion to support the vision of a developed and self-reliant India.
"In the last 10 years, everyone has witnessed a changing India, and in the last 7 years, we have seen a new Uttar Pradesh under the double-engine government," Adityanath said, referring to the combined leadership of PM Modi and the state government.
He continued, "Under PM Modi's leadership, work has been done for the youth, farmers, businessmen, women, and every section of society with a spirit of security, respect, and development."
Adityanath emphasized the support for PM Modi's goal to make India the world's third-largest economy in the next three years and to bring prosperity to the lives of all citizens. He also encouraged young voters to actively participate in shaping the future of a new India.
He cautioned the youth against political parties and individuals trying to mislead them, stressing that the future is bright with the goal of a self-reliant and developed India.
Adityanath responded to statements made by leaders of opposition parties regarding the spiritual worship ('aadhyatmik raashtra saadhnaa') of PM Modi. "The spiritual worship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who serves Mother India tirelessly, is completely a worship of the nation. Those who are involved in pleasures, corruption, incest, and misconduct cannot understand its importance," he stated.
