Hyderabad: As part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a coin exhibition at the Saifabad Mint in Hyderabad was opened on Tuesday, exhibiting the history of coin-making and collection.

"The exhibition depicts nearly 120 years of the history of the region as well as the nation," Tripti Patra Ghosh, Chairman and Managing Director of India Government Mint, said after the launch.

From June 8 to June 13, 2022, the Museum will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibitions highlight the history of coin production, the collection, and the Mint's history and equipment.

The Saifabad Mint, which dates back to 1903 and excelled in producing coins, notes, stamps, and other engineering goods, is a source of pride for the Deccan heritage.

SPMCIL decided to convert this Mint in 2021 so that the Museum, hallmarking centre, and sales counter could all be located in one location, according to the statement.
