New Delhi: Severe cold wave continued in northern India on Thursday. As a result of this, Cold Day was recorded in the country's capital, Delhi on Thursday. The maximum temperature here was 15.2 degrees Celsius, seven degrees below normal. This is the lowest maximum temperature so far this season. Explain that 'cold day' is called when the minimum temperature is below 10 °C and the maximum temperature is 4.4 °C below normal.

Safdarjung observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius. Icy winds from the Western Himalayas are continuously moving towards Delhi. Jayanagar and Ridge weather stations recorded minimum temperatures of 3.8 ° C and 3.5 ° C respectively. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert in Delhi today. Through this, the department recommends to leave the houses along with necessary arrangements, if the weather is very bad. Even today the temperature in Delhi may fall further. There will be severe cold throughout the day and cold wave is also expected.

Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the regional forecast centre of Indian Meteorological Department, said that due to western disturbances, heavy snowfall occurred in the western Himalayas and now the temperature is falling as the cold wave moves towards the plains.
