New Delhi: The winter continues in the capital of the country, Delhi. Today's lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Delhi, due to which the mercury fell to 3.5 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a cold wave to continue till Friday.
Kuldeep Srivastava, head of IMD's Regional Forecast Center, has said that the minimum temperature in the ridge pool is recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius. The cold wave will continue till December 18, after which the temperature is expected to fall further. According to the meteorologist, icy winds were coming from the hills of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal towards the National Capital Region, there was heavy snowfall on December 12 at the said places. Despite the strong sunshine and clear sky, the temperature in most parts of Delhi today remains around 4 degree Celsius.
Air quality was recorded in the 'Bad' category in the national capital due to the wind speed. The city's air quality index remained at 250 in the afternoon, with air quality gradually falling into a very poor category till Sunday.
