New Delhi: Dense fog and severe cold continue to prevail in most parts of North India. In Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, the minimum temperature is below normal in many places, while the country's capital Delhi has received slight relief from the cold wave. There has been a slight improvement in the cold conditions due to some increase in the minimum temperature in Kashmir. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted snowfall again in the next two days.

There has been some decrease in the cold wave in Delhi since last two days. Due to which the effect of cold has reduced, but once again the level of pollution has started increasing. Pollution levels in Delhi have reached very poor category. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature of the capital is expected to reach 4 degree Celsius by the end of December while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 19 degree Celsius. Moderate to dense fog is likely at some places during this period.

Most areas of western Uttar Pradesh do not see the hope of relief from the dense fog. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of moderate to dense fog in the sky in the morning for the next few days in most places. The minimum temperature is expected to be between 3-4 degrees in January. Due to western disturbances, the effect of the cold wave continues in North India.
