Narmadapuram:- Polling for the last phase of the three-tier panchayat elections is being held across the state today. The elections in three districts of Narmadapuram, Makhannagar and Bankhedi in the district were held smoothly today. Let us tell you that in order to conduct peaceful elections, strict monitoring of the polling stations was done by collector and district election officer Neeraj Kumar Singh and superintendent of police Dr Gurkaran Singh for a free, fair and peaceful conduct of the elections.
He inspected the sensitive polling stations of Makhannagar and took stock of the election process and directed the concerned Sector Officer and Presiding Officer of the polling stations where the polling is slow to complete the polling process expeditiously. The Collector and SP took stock of the arrangements at the polling booths in villages Gujwara, Ankhmau, Khidia Furtala etc. At the same time, the villagers also took steps to elect the government of their village by showing enthusiasm for voting, people used their votes as soon as the wait for the panchayat elections, which was stuck for many years due to Corona, was over.
During the polling, 97-year-old Ghisi Bai in the Mehragaon district of Narmadapuram exercised her franchise by reaching the polling station of the village and celebrated the festival of democracy by voting with enthusiasm. Apart from this, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the handicapped and the elderly people, including the youth, to elect the village government, while Triveni Bai, a handicapped woman from the gram panchayat Mohari of Narmadapuram, reached the polling station in the village and cast her vote. The villagers played an important role in strengthening democracy by using their votes.
