New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) has launched a booklet on the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir and called the removal of Article 370 of the Constitution a hoax with the Constitution. Taking a dig at the Narendra Modi government, the CPM has said that on 5 August, the Modi government has reduced its hold on the principles of constitution, federalism and secularism.
CPM has said that this decision of the Narendra Modi government is unconstitutional, illegal and dictatorial. The CPI has written in its booklet that, its state status was taken away from Jammu and Kashmir and it was divided into two union territories. Obviously both will be under the power of the Center. In this way, due to the kindness of the Modi government, the number of states in India has come down from 29 to 28.
The CPI (M) has strongly opposed these unprecedented laws and decisions. The CPI (M) has said that these decisions are unconstitutional, illegal and dictatorial. The principle of unity in diversity has been attacked through these steps. This is not only a matter of abolition of special status given under Section 370, it is a matter of ending democracy.
