Shimla: In Himachal Pradesh, pesticides that cause side effects on human and animal life will no longer be sold in the market. These medicines have been completely banned. A notification has also been issued by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Pesticides will not be sold at any vendor shop in the entire state. If a vendor is caught doing this, then the Agriculture Department will take strict action against the vendor.
Even though a ban has been imposed to save mankind from the crisis of these medicines, no organic medicine has been introduced in the market for the farmers so far. The natural farming run by the government has not even reached the farmers. Therefore, farmers may face problems in the coming days. In the past, some pesticides were banned, but this was in small quantities. Now, what steps will the government take for the farmers in the coming days, it will be awaited.
District Deputy Agricultural Director Dr PC Saini said that in today's time, it is necessary to use pesticides and fertilizers to meet the demand of food for the growing population. But with the wild use of fertilizers and pesticides, farming is becoming toxic. The fertilizer capacity of the land is decreasing day by day. Seeing this, the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has also issued a notification banning such pesticides.
