Former SP MP CN Singh passes away in Lucknow

Lucknow: Many people in the country have lost their lives due to the COVID19 pandemic. Meanwhile, former Samajwadi Party MP Chandranath Singh alias CN Singh passed away late on Friday night. He was an MLA from the Machilinagar Lok Sabha constituency of Jaunpur city. He had been running ill for some time now. He was undergoing treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Lucknow. He breathed his last in the hospital.

CN Singh, a resident of Bhadeera Prithviganj, bordering Pratapgarh city, won the flag of the SP for the first time in 1999. In this election, he defeated BJP veteran and Ramjanmabhoomi movement leader Ram Vilas Vedanta. Then the Pratapgarh and the Virapur assembly area were included in the Machilinagar Lok Sabha constituency.

CN Singh was also MLA in 1996 from Pratapgarh Sadar seat. The former MP has left the whole family behind him. One of his sons is Prashant Singh alias Raja Bhaiya and daughter Purnima Singh. YF Usha Singh also interferes in politics. There has been a wave of grief among Samajwadi Party workers of Jaunpur and Pratapgarh on the death of the veteran leader. Son Prashant Singh said that the body will be cremated later in the afternoon. His demise has created a state of mourning not only in the family but also in the entire state.
