Pune: The Zika virus has started wreaking havoc in Belsar in the Pune district of Maharashtra. As soon as the first case came to light here, the health department has become alert. As per the information received, the Central Government and the State Administration have started implementing various measures in Belsar village of Pune. In fact, the administration has appealed to the villagers not to make any woman pregnant for the next three months. Not only that, condoms are being distributed to the villagers by the Gram Panchayat and the Health Department. Pregnant women are most at risk from this mosquito. Experts say Zika can disrupt the baby's brain development. Not only that, but it can also deliver prematurely, so it is very important to be careful. As soon as the first case of Zika came to light in Belsar village of Purandar tehsil of Pune, the authorities have become active. On the other hand, Dr. Bharat Shitole, says, "Zika spreads in two ways. It can be transmitted by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito or physical contact with the infected person. Zika virus can survive for about four months in a man's semen." Therefore, the baby may develop Zika disease during pregnancy caused by that man. Now talk about the symptoms of being infected with the zika virus, they are similar to dengue. This includes fever, rashes on the body, and joint pain.
