NEW DELHI: While Congress exchanged diplomacy over the draft of bill to criminalize triple talaq in the Rajya Sabha, by presenting itself stoutly in opposition to the legislation in the upper House, BJP felt it has succeeded to make spotlight on negations within the main opposition which has wanted to get rid of its pro-minority tag.

The bill in the Rajya Sabha showed Congress in the unchanged position as practitioners of stickler "secular" politics such as the Left, Trinamool Congress, RJD, SP, and BSP, averred a senior BJP leader. Now Congress is back in the same turn of the political board, in spite of party chief Rahul Gandhi's temple visits during the Gujarat assembly polls. acting in response to a hullabaloo over Rahul's name being entered in a register for "non-Hindus" at the Somnath temple, Congress had made a statement that the leader is a sacred thread wearing (janeudhari) brahmin. The soft Hindu line was emerged to have set free when Congress improved its tally and ran BJP close on a number of seats.

As per Government sources informed there will be a spanking new bid to present the bill in the House on Thursday, knowing full well that it lacks statistics and that the bill might well be referred to a select board. "But we want Congress to be exposed more when it speaks during the debate over the bill," a senior BJP party leader said.

striking at the RJDgrand old party Congress on its "minority" fault-line, feel BJP party functionaries, compels home the message that the major opposition is likewise defenseless on several subjects like checking unlawful migration, dealing with radicalization and handling Pakistan. "Let Congress explain why it is finding excuses to delay the triple talaq bill," said law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
