Raipur: Assembly elections are due in Jharkhand by the end of this year. That is why all the parties are gearing up for the elections. The Congress, which is looking weak in many parts of the country, has also started its preparations to contest elections in this state. P.L. Punia can command Jharkhand for Congress, who gave the party a grand success last year in Chhattisgarh. Last year, Congress returned to power after 15 years in a spectacular performance in Chhattisgarh.

Punia had strengthened the Congress organizationally in Chhattisgarh, the party high command wants to strengthen the Congress in Jharkhand in the same way, so that the Congress can get success in the year-end assembly elections there. Congress's Rajya Sabha MP PL Punia was in charge of Chhattisgarh on 12 July 2017 by the Congress. About a year and a half later, Chhattisgarh assembly elections were held, in which Congress won 68 out of 90 seats.

The credit goes to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and President of the manifesto committee TS Singhdev for this victory of the Congress, as much as to Punia. Poonia, being the state in-charge, worked to strengthen the Congress from the booth level in Chhattisgarh. The factionalism brought Congress to a stage. Increased morale of the grassroots workers by raising their inquiries.

The Congress was strengthened organizationally by these works. The party high command wants the Congress to contest the assembly elections in Jharkhand also by strengthening the organization. At present, only seven of the 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand are with the Congress. Congress hopes that like Chhattisgarh, it will also perform well here.
