Srinagar: Congress veteran Ghulam Nabi Azad left for Srinagar on Thursday to meet Kashmir's veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was protesting against the removal of Section 370 and Article 35A from Jammu and Kashmir. The airport was closed by the administration. The move was taken by the administration as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the state.

According to the information received, Ghulam Nabi Azad was detained on his way to Srinagar airport. They are being taken back to Delhi from here. He was given 3 p.m. The flight will depart from Delhi at 30 hrs. Earlier, after the removal of Sections 370 and 35A granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir, National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval had met the common citizens in Shopian and had a meal with them.

On the other hand, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, who met the Kashmiri people of Ajit Doval, made an objectionable statement on Thursday morning saying that "anyone can be taken with money". He had left for Srinagar after saying that he had left for Srinagar but the administration stopped him at Srinagar airport and is now preparing to send him to Delhi.
