Amritsar: The issue of PM Narendra Modi's security lapse soured after a Pakistani boat was found in the Ferozepur district of Punjab. The boat was recovered by the border security force (BSF) from the Sutlej river. This river flows along the border of India and Pakistan in Punjab. In many places, the Sutlej enters the borders of both countries. However, the Pakistani boat found on the banks of the Sutlej river was completely empty. Some of it has not been found objectionable.

But security agencies are investigating who were on the boat and where they left the boat. PM Modi's convoy was trapped on Wednesday near the area where the boat was found in Ferozepur district. This place is only 30 km from the Pakistan border. Tiffin bombs and explosives have been found in the area several times in the past. A three-member investigation team constituted by the Union Home Ministry on Friday (January 7, 2022) has also reached the spot for investigation. The centre team has reached Ferozepur and started its investigation. The team first reached the flyover on the Ferozepur-Moga highway where PM Modi's convoy was trapped. The committee has also summoned 13 other senior officials including Punjab Police Chief (DGP) Siddharth Chattopadhyay for questioning. The committee is headed by Sudhir Kumar Saxena, Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat.

The other members are Balbir Singh, Joint Director, Intelligence Bureau (IB) and S Suresh IG special security group. Meanwhile, the Central Government has issued a notice to the SSP of Bhatinda and asked for a reply within a day. The Union Home Ministry (MHA) has asked him to respond by 5 pm on January 8 as to why action should not be taken against PM Modi over his security lapses. It has come to light that the place where PM Modi's convoy was trapped was in the firing range of the Pakistani army. Congress leader Manish Tewari has said this. He said the place where PM Modi's convoy was trapped is only 10 km from the Indian border. India and Pakistani artillery are stationed a little away from that place. In such a situation, it is not proper to compare PM Modi's security with the general public. It should be acknowledged that the prime minister's life was in danger.
