New Delhi: The Congress has started taunting PM Modi over Taliban occupation in Afghanistan. Expressing concern, the Congress recently said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar should break the "mysterious silence" and tell the country what is their next strategy for this neighbouring country and what is the plan for the safe return of Indian diplomats and citizens from there. In fact, today, the party's chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, "The Congress expects a mature strategic and diplomatic response from the Narendra Modi government.''

At the same time, he also told reporters, "The situation in Afghanistan has taken a very dangerous turn. India's strategic interests are at stake in Afghanistan. The safety of our diplomats and citizens is at stake. Congress stands by every step that protects the interests of the country. When the Government of Afghanistan has gone and the Taliban have taken over, we expect a mature political, strategic and diplomatic response from the Government of India.''

At the same time, he alleged that "the silence of Narendra Modiji and his government in these circumstances is both alarming and mysterious." At the same time, the Congress General Secretary has claimed that "the Modi government's lack of a plan to bring back our diplomats and citizens is a shining example of the government's negligence in discharging responsibility. Such negligence cannot be accepted. He says the Modi government's "silence" is alarming as many terror outfits carry out anti-India activities with the help of Pakistan.

He also said, "The Prime Minister and the External Affairs Minister should come forward and tell the country how our diplomats and citizens will be brought back safely and what will be our next strategy on Afghanistan?"
