Bangalore: Political turmoil has escalated in the state just before the proposed by-election in Karnataka. On Monday, the CBI team raided the house of Congress state unit president DK Shivkumar, accusing the Congress of doing politics of revenge on the Central government.

In a tweet, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala wrote, "The Modi-Yeddyurappa duo will not be able to intimidate by their puppet CBI. CBI should look into the corruption of the Yeddyurappa government. Congress workers will not bow down to the Modi government's tactics, and such action will only strengthen us," Congress leader Priyank Kharge wrote in a tweet, adding that the CBI raids again raise big questions. The government itself is stuck in the corruption case and the election is near.

In a tweet, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi wrote that as soon as the by-election in Karnataka proposed, the BJP and the Home Minister have returned to their old tricks and sent the CBI to conduct raids. The CBI has raided 15 locations of Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivkumar and MP DK Suresh on Monday morning. The CBI team is hitting reds in Doddalhalli, Kanakpura, and Sadashiv Nagar in Bengaluru. The CBI raid is underway in the alleged corruption case.
