NEW DELHI: The Congress attacked the BJP government on Saturday over a report on the suicide of 12 thousand farmers in Maharashtra in three years and alleged that the BJP rule has led to the curse of death of food donors. In a tweet, party Chief Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, the BJP government has been hit by a sharp attack on farmers.
In a tweet, Randeep Surjewala said, "The curse of death that Food donors are getting in the BJP regime! In the past three years, 12,000 farmers have committed suicide in the BJP-ruled Maharashtra. That means 11 farmers per day forced to commit suicide! It is very shameful. Randeep Surjewala has said, "What happened to Fadnavis who had apologised Rs 34,000 crore to farmers?"
Raising the issue of sugarcane farmers in Uttar Pradesh, Congress Chief Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, "Before the elections, the BJP government had promised the sugarcane farmers that the remaining payment would be made within 14 days. Now, the cane farmer's arrears have reached Rs. In Uttar Pradesh alone, the arrears are Rs. Will the Prime Minister respond in this regard?
