Lucknow: In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, IMC chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan has announced a mass arrest and "jail bharo" (fill the jails) movement. Tauqeer Raza has spoken about mass arrests after Friday prayers, leading to thousands of people taking to the streets. Heavy police forces have already been deployed in response, converting the entire area into a cantonment. Surveillance is being conducted through the use of drones.

Currently, the police are attempting to halt Tauqeer Raza and his supporters. However, the supporters have dismantled barricades and moved forward, escalating tensions. Tauqeer Raza's supporters are staging a "jail bharo" agitation on Friday in protest against the verdict in the Gyanvapi case. Previously, Tauqeer Raza made controversial statements regarding the violence in Haldwani. He stated, "If you run a bulldozer over our homes, will we remain silent? We will not tolerate any bulldozer now. If the Supreme Court does not take notice, then we will defend ourselves. The law has given us the right." He added that if someone attacks us, we should kill him.

During this, Raza also made objectionable comments about PM Modi and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, using abusive language. Currently, the atmosphere in Bareilly is tense, with the police administration on high alert. Thousands of people have taken to the streets, with the police prepared for any situation.

Tauqeer Raza further stated that if someone is a criminal, then why are their homes, madrassas, and mosques being bulldozed. He pledged to oppose this action, citing a growing atmosphere of hatred in the country. He declared that a campaign against this would be launched from Bareilly, extending nationwide.

However, in an earlier video message, Tauqeer Raza urged his followers to conduct arrests peacefully after offering prayers. He emphasized the importance of not engaging in activities that could convey the wrong message and appealed for demonstrations or protests to remain within constitutional limits.

In anticipation of the protest announced by the IMC chief in Bareilly, tight security measures have been implemented. Over 1000 policemen have been deployed at Islamia Maidan, with all officers, including SP and DSP, present. Additionally, PAC and RAF have been stationed to handle any emergencies.

This situation unfolds amidst heightened tensions following the violence in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, during the Remove Encroachment campaign. Both Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are on high alert.
