New Delhi: For the first time in the country in 218 days, corona active cases have been recorded at less than 2 lakh. Active corona cases in India fell below 2 lakh on Saturday for the first time in 218 days since the beginning of the second wave. According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases figure in India was 2,01,632 on Saturday morning, which had come down to just 1.9 lakh by late night. For the first time since March 12, 2021, the active cases figure has come down to below two lakh.

Earlier on February 12, 2021, active cases had fallen to a low of 1.3 lakh. Meanwhile, 144 coronavirus deaths occurred across the country on Saturday. This was the lowest number of corona deaths a day since March 15 this year. According to the Union Health Ministry, 14,146 new cases of corona infection have been reported in India in the last 24 hours amid the slowing down of corona in the country. Yesterday, 144 people died due to the epidemic in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 19,788 people have recovered from the epidemic. After which the number of people recovering from corona has gone up to 3,34,19,749 in the country. The Union Health Ministry said that active corona patients in the country have now come down to 1,95,846 lakh. For the first time in 218 days, the Active Corona case in India fell below 2 lakh on Saturday. So far 97,65,89,540 people have been vaccinated in India. In the last 24 hours, 41,20,772 people have been vaccinated.
