From January 1, children under the age of 12 in Singapore will be vaccinated against corona. For which the government in this country is devising a unique strategy. The information was issued by the Ministry of Health on Saturday. In a news briefing, Kenneth Mak, Director of Medical Services for the Ministry of Health, noted that children under the age of 12 account for around 11.2 percent of all covid cases. The percentage was 6.7 percent four weeks ago. He stated that the government will take significant actions in the area of child vaccination.

Mak indicated that health officials are collaborating with an expert group on covid vaccinations in order to prevent children aged 5 to 11 from the disease and extend the national immunisation programme. He also stated that the Health Science Authority (HSA) will collaborate with Pfizer on regulatory approvals. Following these approvals, we hope to be able to begin an expanded National Immunization Program for children under the age of 12 years. Vaccination should begin in January 2022, if everything goes well. It was revealed that the Health Department is currently giving booster doses to persons aged 30 to 59 years after six months after the second treatment, and to people aged 60 and up for five months.

On Friday, 1734 new cases of covid were reported in Singapore, with 16 persons dying. The deceased ranged in age from 52 to 93 years old. The Ministry of Health confirmed this. Covid had infected 2,038 people earlier on Thursday.
