Everything has been closed for the prevention of coronavirus, in such a case, the court proceedings are also closed for 21 days. Only the most important cases are being heard. More than three crore cases are pending in courts across the country. The stalled work due to corona will not only increase the pile of cases in the courts but will also increase the time taken to get justice. That is, the delay in justice will increase further.

The Prime Minister has declared a complete nationwide bandh for 25 days from March 25. However, prior to this announcement, the Supreme Court and various High Courts and District Courts had taken precautionary measures and limited the courts to hear necessary cases instead of regular hearing of all the cases.

Due to this the settlement and trial of the cases was limited but there was no restriction on the filing of the cases, so the rate of filing of new cases remained the same and the rate of disposal was halted. The direct result of which is to increase the number of cases pending in the court and the number of cases is increasing.
