Good news has also come amidst the fast spreading corona infection in India. The number of healthy patients has exceeded active cases. Active cases refer to those patients admitted to hospitals. However, due to select states like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Delhi, the increasing number of new cases is not decreasing. On Wednesday also, five and a half thousand new cases have been reported and 22 hundred deaths have taken place. Including these, the number of infected has crossed two lakh five thousand, while the number of dead has reached close to six thousand.

According to the bulletin issued by the Union Health Ministry at eight in the morning, a record 8,909 cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the number of infected has reached 2,07,615. During this period 217 people also died and the number of dead reached 5,815. The reason for the difference in the data received from the Ministry of Health and other sources is the delay in getting the data from the states to the central agency. Many agencies collect data directly from the states. The statistics of the Union Health Ministry include cases up to late night before one day.

According to the information received from states and union territories, 5,957 new cases were received on Wednesday. The number of infected has increased to 2,06,278. So far 1,00,985 people have recovered completely and active cases remain at 99,372. Corona has killed 5,921 people so far. On Wednesday also 182 people died, of which 122 people died in Maharashtra. This is the largest number of deaths in any state in one day. 30 deaths are included in Gujarat, 11 in Tamil Nadu, 7 each in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, 4 in Andhra Pradesh and 1 in Karnataka.
