All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) of Rishikesh and Bharat Electronics Limited (BHEL), a Government of India Navratna company in the defence sector, have jointly developed the country's first remote health monitoring system. Through this, in remote resource-less areas, the corona virus-infected patients can be found. AIIMS Director Professor Ravi Kant said that there was a widespread shortage of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) due to the ever-increasing global outbreak of Coronavirus. Due to which health care workers were at high risk of getting infected. AIIMS Director said that with the joint efforts of both, a digital medical system has been developed, under which the doctor while sitting at AIIMS can monitor the patient's body temperature and oxygen content in the blood and the speed of breath".

This will prevent the patient from being hospitalized unnecessarily. AIIMS Director Prof. Ravikant said that BHEL Bangalore is known for its expertise. Hence, BHEL has developed a system for this which will prove to be very useful for India in the medical field. Website and mobile app were also built. He said that along with this a website and mobile application were also built with the help of which the patients can sit at home, AIIMS can inform the doctors of Rishikesh about their illness. The software also provides that if the patient reports that he is suspected of the corona, then he will be provided with a monitoring kit from the institute.

By using this kit he/she can easily connect with this system and consult a doctor. Vital parameters of the patient will continue to be displayed in the command and control centre from AIIMS without interruption through the Internet with its location. Along with this, we will also issue such alerts in which the patient needs to be admitted to the hospital or not. This mobile application will also show that in which parts of the state the disease is spreading. AIIMS Director Prof. Ravi Kant and BHEL Bengaluru Chairman and Managing Director MB Gautam congratulated Dr Mohit Tayal and senior scientist Rajasekhar for this achievement. He told that this technique will prove to be a milestone in fighting the coronavirus.
