Today is the 7th day of lockdown in the country. The state is taking special care of rescue due to Coronavirus. Thousands of tourists are stranded across the country due to the lockdown. A tourism organization said that around 2,000 foreign tourists are stranded in Goa due to the lockdown and efforts are being made to send them to their countries.

Savio Messius, President of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) said that the majority of the tourists coming back to Goa are British. Tourists from many other countries have already been evacuated.

Regarding the matter, he said, '1,500 to 2,000 foreigners are stranded in Goa. Most of them are British. We are getting calls from many foreign people, who are appealing to be removed. Some of them have approached the British Embassy and the Goa Police. So, Savio said that many of these tourists were holidaying in Goa for a long time. Many of them have come from six months ago. Most are living in rented houses and facing the problem of purchasing essential items. We are helping them in every way possible.
