Which sometimes takes the form of depression. In such a situation, it also takes some people to the brink of suicide.

According to experts on this matter, nervousness, fear of infection, extreme restlessness, behaviour seeking constant reassurance, sleep disturbances, excessive anxiety, feeling of helplessness and fear of economic depression are major factors of depression and anxiety in people. The fear of job loss, financial burden, uncertainty about the future and the fear of the end of food and other essential items add to these worries.

Since the outbreak of Coronavirus, the number of people seeking help on mental health problems has also been seen increasing in online forums. These include all the problems ranging from restlessness to loneliness and worrying about their utility to the job. Dr R. Poorna Chandrika, Director at the Institute of Mental Health here said that by the end of April, about 3,632 calls were received and 2,603 callers were given psychiatric counselling.
