MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court directs Mumbai Police to give prior notice of three days to Arnab Goswami before any arrest warrant issued against him in the Television Rating Point scam case. After the Maharashtra government affirmed the BHC on Wednesday that it will complete its investigation into the role of Republic TV within 12 weeks, the court directed Mumbai Police to give advance notice of three days.

A bench of Justices SS Shinde and Manish Pitale have agreed to the statement that the probe against Republic TV, other employees of ARG Outlier Media, and other television channels, will be completed within 12 weeks. The court was hearing a bunch of pleas filed by Goswami and ARG media which is quashing the FIR and charge sheet filed by Mumbai Police in the alleged TRP manipulation case. The petitioners claim that no evidence against them is found by the crime branch of state yet but it was prolonging the probe by merely naming them as suspects in the chargesheet.

The court also noted that the investigation could not stay as there was no clarity on who is and who is not an accused. Further, the hearing is scheduled on the plea to June 28, the court directed Goswami to co-operate with the investigation and complete it as soon as possible.
