Covid Overview: India reports 9,119 cases, 11K recoveries

New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, India has seen 9,119 new cases of COVID-19, with 396 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, the country saw a total of 10,264 discharges in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to around 98.33%, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries data to 3,39,67,962. COVID-19 active cases in India have decreased to 1,09,940 (the lowest in 539 days), according to government data released today.

So far, States/UTs have received 1,32,33,15,050 vaccination doses. The States/UTs still have 22,72,19,901 in balance and unutilized COVID-19 vaccine doses to administer. So far, the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has administered about 119.38 crore vaccine doses. The country's total death toll today stands at 4,66,980. The first death from the COVID epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 63,59,24,763 samples have been tested for COVID-19 as of November 24. On Wednesday, 11,50,538 of these samples were examined.

Meanwhile, the overall number of COVID-19 cases in Kerala has surpassed 51 lakh, with 4,280 new infections reported on Wednesday. According to an official news release, 308 deaths were announced, bringing the total death toll to 38,353.
