Covid positive woman dies outside Noida hospital, no one to care

India’s prevailing situation has raised the concern for entire world. The daily surge of cases are creating records which are not to be proud on. Lately, 35-year-old Covid positive woman died in her car while waiting to be admitted in a hospital in Greater Noida. The incident took place on Thursday outside the Government Institute of Medical Sciences. 

The victim identified as Jagriti Gupta remained in the car for over three hours before it was taken for cremation. She was an engineer in Greater Noida who survived her husband and two children. The attendant who accompanied Jagriti ran from pillar to post, begging the hospital authorities for a bed, she died in the parking lot of the hospital. The doctors came after the victim had already lost her life and declared her dead. We can’t expect more worse thing than this to let die a patient gasping for oxygen but here it is. The authorities did not arrange for the body to be taken to mortuary and cremated as per Covid protocols.

The victim’s body lay inside the car for over three hours before it was taken for cremation. Though Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has claimed that there is no shortage of oxygen beds in UP number of cases are surging. Families are being turned away by hospitals that are facing an acute shortage of hospital beds and oxygen supply.
