New Delhi: India has reported 8,318 new cases of Covid-19, with 465 deaths as a result of the infection in the last 24 hours. According to data released on Saturday by the Union Health Ministry, the country saw a total of 10,967 discharges in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to 98.33 percent, the highest since March 2020, and total recoveries data to 3,39,88,797. COVID-19 active cases in India have decreased to 1,07,019, according to government data released today.
So far, the Nationwide Vaccination Drive has administered about 121.06 crore vaccine doses. The country's total death toll today stands at 4,67,933. The first death from the COVID pandemic was recorded in India in March 2020. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 63,82,47,889 samples have been tested for COVID-19 as of November 26. On Friday, 9,69,354 of these samples were examined.
Meanwhile, Kerala on Friday reported 4,677 COVID-19 cases and 33 deaths, bringing the total number of people afflicted to 51,12,789 and the death toll to 39,125. Ernakulam had the most cases (823) among the districts, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (633), and Kozhikode (588). The number of active cases was 49,459, with only 7.2 percent of those admitted to hospitals, according to the health department. There were 6,632 recoveries, bringing the total number of people cured in the state to 50,35,384.
