New Delhi: India has reported 3,303 new cases of the novel coronavirus, as well as 39 deaths from the infection in the last 24 hours.  According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday (April 28), the country experienced 2,563 discharges in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 98.75 percent and total recoveries to 4,25,28,126.

The overall number of current COVID-19 cases in India has risen to 16,980 (0.04%). There were 16,279. active cases registered yesterday. The country's total death toll today stands at 5,23,693. The first death from the COVID epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020.

On April 28, the daily positive rate is 0.66 percent. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reports that 83,64,71,748 samples have been tested for COVID-19 as of April 27. On Wednesday, 4,97,669 of these samples were tested.

Meanwhile, according to data released by the health department, Delhi reported 1,367 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, with one death. The number of active cases in the capital has grown to 4,832. In Delhi, the positive rate was recorded as 4.50 percent. As per accounts,  the total number of infections in the national capital is 18,78,458, with a death toll of 26,170. On Tuesday, the city conducted 30,346 COVID-19 tests, according to the report. On Tuesday, Delhi reported 1,204 new COVID-19 cases and one fatality, with a positive rate of 4.64 percent.

This is the sixth day in a row that the capital has seen more than 1,000 new cases in a single day. On Tuesday, 1,204 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Delhi, with one fatality, and a positive rate of 4.64 percent.
