Jaipur: In a shocking incident on Tuesday, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants at his residence in Jaipur. Following the attack, gang member Rohit Godara, associated with notorious criminal Lawrence Bishnoi's gang, claimed responsibility for the murder.

Two unidentified men entered Gogamedi's Jaipur residence, firing multiple shots that resulted in his death. The entire incident, including the shooting of another individual present with Gogamedi, was captured on a CCTV camera in the room. In the footage, Gogamedi is seen collapsing from the gunshot injuries. Although he was rushed to the hospital after the assailants fled, he succumbed to his injuries.

Rohit Godara, a wanted criminal with an extensive record, has evaded authorities in India and is currently on the run. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken steps to apprehend him and has filed criminal charges against him. Hours after the attack, Rohit Godara claimed responsibility for the killing in a detailed Facebook post. Hailing from Bikaner, Godara has a notorious criminal history, facing over 32 serious cases since 2010. Known for his involvement in the underworld, he has allegedly extorted sums ranging from Rs 5 crore to Rs 17 crore from various businessmen in Rajasthan.

Godara is also accused of orchestrating the murder of gangster Raju Theth in Sikar last year, a responsibility he proudly announced on Facebook. In his post, Godara linked the retribution to the deaths of gangsters Anandpal Singh and Balveer Banuda. Recently, Godara's name has surfaced in connection with the Siddhu Moosewala murder case.

Previously associated with Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs, Rohit Godara fled to Dubai in June 2022 from Delhi, using a fake passport. A red corner notice has been issued against him, and it is believed that he is currently in Canada.
