New Delhi: Even though the Ministry of Home Affairs has removed the Special Protection Group (SPG) security from the Congress family, the CRPF personnel deployed under the protection of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi will be given weapons and vehicles to the SPG personnel. Under the SPG protection cover, the Gandhi family was provided protection through Range Rover SUVs, devices and other gadgets.

After the removal of the SPG, CRPF personnel deployed under the protection of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will have all the devices and vehicles with the SPG. Earlier there were rumors that the Home Ministry has withdrawn Range Rover SUVs and gadgets along with the removal of SPG security from the Gandhi family, but security officials have denied such reports.

According to sources, the Ministry of Home Affairs has written to the Cabinet Secretariat to transfer SPG covered vehicles and gadgets to CRPF. However, it may take a month or two to complete its paperwork. Till the completion of the paperwork, even in the interim CRPF will be able to use vehicles and gadgets allotted to the SPG to protect the Gandhi family.
