New Delhi: Last evening, alleged chikungunya killed the convict in the Dadri lynching case, Ravin Sisodiya, alias Robin, 22 years old who, was held with the charges of murder and assault and was blocked in the Greater Noida jail for the past one year.

Dr JC Passey, medical director of Lok Nayak Hospital, said, “The patient was referred to Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi, from the district hospital in Noida. He had chronic kidney disease and diabetes. He also had respiratory infection and fever and died due to Kidney and respiratory failure”.

“We have received information about his death due to some mosquito-borne disease. Final medical reports are awaited”, said, Dharmendra Singh, senior superintendent of police, Gautam Budh Nagar.

Police arrested the convict Ravin along with 17 other youths on September 28, 2015 for lynching Mohammad Ikhlaq, 55 year old, and critically wounding his son Danish over accusation of slaughtering a cow and accumulating its meat for consumption.
