Days after killing DD cameraman, Naxals claim they had 'no intention of targeting media- Report

NEW DELHI: The banned outfit Communist Party of India (Maoist) has released a statement stating that it was never their intention to target the media and kill the cameraperson claiming the Dantewada attack in which Doordarshan DD Cameraman Achutyanand Sahu killed .

Worth mention here Two policemen and Sahu were killed while two others injured in the Naxals attack on Tuesday in poll-bound Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district.

Days after killing, Naxals, on Friday released a statement asserting  that Sahu was killed after being caught in the surprise attack. They added with clarification that they 'had no intention of targeting the media.'

The clarification of  Naxals was made in a hand-written statement, which was posted by news agency ANI on its Twitter handle, Look here the statement -

Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallav, however, rebuted the claim by Naxals and stated that Sahu's killing was a 'targetted media ambush' and was in now ways a 'mistake', as Times now reported.

"Why was camera looted? Because it had recorded evidence of what happened in the first few minutes of targeted media ambush. Multiple bullet wounds and skull fractures on the martyred cameraman in no ways indicates it was by mistake," Pallav was quoted as asserting by news agency ANI.
