Tokyo: Avani Lakhera, who dropped a gold medal in India's bag at Tokyo Paralympics, has created history. Indian Paralympic Committee Chairman Deepa Malik congratulated him on winning the gold. Apart from him, Abhivan Bindra, who gave India its first gold at the Beijing Olympics, also congratulated her. Avani has become the first woman athlete in India to win a gold medal at the Paralympics.

In fact, Avani also equaled the world record with 249.6 points. As soon as Deepa Malik received the news of Avani's victory, she said, "It is history, your medal will add to the celebration of Janmashtami. You have given a tremendous reason not for the Paralympic fraternity but for every Indian to celebrate. I thank you for bringing the beautiful medals that are shining in the history of the Paralympic Games of India." Apart from her, Abhinav Bindra, who won a gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle event at the Beijing Olympics, also tweeted.
