New Delhi: The Air India flyer who urinated on a woman was also brought up during a high-level meeting on Monday to examine airport security, along with other logistics and infrastructure concerns, source said. The meeting was presided over by Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla.

Officers from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), as well as the director general of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), attended the meeting.

The  recent incidents of misbehaviour in airlines also come up during the meeting that lasted about 30 minutes. The meeting began  at mid-noon at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The meeting was called in response to reports of an Air India passenger acting inappropriately, allegedly peeing on a fellow passenger while intoxicated on a journey from New York to Delhi.

Mumbai-based Shankar Mishra was accused of urinating on an elderly passenger in the November 26 New York to Delhi flight. Apart from expressing annoyance against the man, the elderly woman had reportedly also accused the Air India employees of being 'deeply unprofessional' in her complaint.

Later, the Delhi Police detained Mishra in Bangalore. The arrest happened the day after Wells Fargo, a company with its headquarters in California, fired him.

Social media users are outraged over the Air India issue. A similar incidence on another recent Air India flight was reported. The Delhi Police received a notice from the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Friday regarding alleged passenger misconduct and harassment.
